Monday 1st March 2021

Good morning, we hope that you had a good weekend.

It was very nice to see so many of you in our class zoom meeting on Friday

Wasn’t it lovely and sunny yesterday with such a big blue sky , we hope you spent some time outside.

Did you see the full moon on Saturday evening? It was really bright. The full moon that falls in February is called the Snow moon. The full moon that falls in January is called the Wolf Moon. The full moon that falls in March is called the Worm Moon. Can you think how these names have come to be?

Science

We are looking at materials and their properties this term. Last week’s lesson was all about raw materials. This week we’re looking at man-made materials – the scientific word for man-made is synthetic. Click the link to do some new learning

Literacy

Do you remember this picture?

When we return to school next week, we will be continuing our spooky stories.
To remind yourselves of the work we were doing, write a list of things that you can see in this picture and words that describe the mood that it creates.

Now have a go at writing some sentences. Remember to use the grammatical structure that we have been practising.
The adjective, adjective, noun, verb, adverb, prepositional phase.
Don’t forget to email your sentences for us to read.

Maths

Did you give Fluent in 5 a go on Friday? I could see that 6 people watched the Set 2 clip and 4 people watched the Set 1 clip on Friday – so if that was you – Well Done.

Here are the answers for Friday’s questions and the questions for today.

World Book Day

This Thursday, the 4th of March, is World Book Day. In the past we have dressed up, made masks and made hats. This year, because most of us are not in school, Mrs Uttley has asked if we can draw a World Book Day outfit and colour it in or lable it – giving details. If you have what you need at home to make a costume and dress up then do that and send us a photo. We do not want anyone buying an outfit or spending money to buy things to dress up with, please just use what you already have or draw a picture of an outfit.

We will have our class chat zoom meeting on Thursday so that we can share our ideas and look at each other’s outfit idea pictures.

Reading

We could see that the people who spent some time on Active Learn last week were – Shakeel, Fatou, Zahraa, Kemarrah, Estee, Chardonnae, Jamai and Domonic. The champions were Jamai who answered a brilliant 56 questions and Domonic who answered a massive 78 questions – great job boys. Well Done to all of you for doing some reading.

Here is the next part of our class story to listen to…..

Hopefully this will be our last week of remote learning and next week we can all be back in school together.

We hope that you enjoy today’s activities

Miss Morgan and Mrs Bentley
